Tripartite Partnership Agreement Kick-Off

Monday, July 3, 2023, a crucial milestone was reached with the signing of the Tripartite Partnership Agreement (TPA) for the highly awaited Engineering and Science Complex (ESC). The agreement marks the beginning of a new era of collaboration between the University of Nairobi and its French partners and paves the way for the construction of the ESC, a state-of-the-art facility that will be a hub for innovation and learning in engineering and science.

Geospatial Engineering Students Camp at Kibwezi Field Station

Every year, The Department of Geospatial and Space Technology conducts the Geospatial Camp for fourth-year students who are about to go for their attachment. The Camp is designed to expose students to the rapidly growing technologies in the field of Geospatial Engineering. This year, the Geospatial Camp was held at the University of Nairobi- Kibwezi Dryfield station.

Training : Underwater Welding Through Laser Welding and Laser Hybrid

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nairobi, in collaboration with the Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries (AFTAAC), organized a five-day training program for young Scientists and Engineers. The training focused on both conventional and non-conventional welding processes, including arc welding, laser welding, laser hybrid welding, and underwater welding. The training was conducted by Prof. Abdel-Monem El-Batahgy from the Central Metallurgical Research Institute in Egypt.
