The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Nairobi continues to expand its global footprint following a successful courtesy visit by Prof. Thomas Mbuya Ochuku and Eng. Muthomi Munyua to leading French institutions within Université Paris-Saclay, including Chimie ParisTech and CentraleSupélec.

Three engineering student teams from the University of Nairobi have secured direct entry into Jacob’s Ladder Africa’s GreenLabs Incubator after standout performances at student-led Green Tech Conference 4.0. These student teams are stepping into a tailored ecosystem: gaining high-level mentorship, market development support, and deep entrepreneurial networks needed to scale their prototypes into profitable green enterprises.

The Faculty of Engineering launched a smart water purification kiosk on campus on Thursday, March 12, 2026, making clean filtered water available to the university community at five shillings per 250ml refill, payable via M-Pesa. The unit, developed in partnership with UK-based Majicom Limited, will run on a three-month trial period before a wider assessment is made.
