The University of Nairobi started the year with prayers. The interdenominational prayers included members from the Hindu, Christian and Islam communities.

The University of Nairobi admitted the first face to face learning students since the COVID-19 pandemic began. The first batch of students to be admitted were first year students who started biometric registration on Monday 2nd Nov 2020. The college of Architecture and Engineering was among the admitting colleges after complying with the guidelines set by the ministry for face to face learning.
