April 10, 2024 – The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Nairobi played host to a high-profile public lecture by Dr. Najat Mokhtar, Deputy Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Head of the Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications. The event, held at the Faculty’s Boardroom, delved into the critical role of nuclear technology in driving sustainable development, drawing academics, researchers, and industry leaders.

The Faculty of Engineering is working on a collaborative venture with the University of Windsor, Canada in the various sub disciplines of engineering to boost academic works in both Universities. The collaboration targets both students and staff in both universities. This was disclosed by the Acting Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Duncan Mbuge in a meeting at the Faculty on Wednesday April 9, 2025 with the visiting University of Windsor scholars led by the Dean of Engineering, Dr. Bill Van Heyst and the Associate Vice-President, Enrolment Management, Dr. Chris Busch.
