BIC Art Master Africa 2019 Challenge

Students at the School were presented with an opportunity of becoming the Bic Art Master Africa during 

the launch of the  2019 challenge. A team from Bic shared the details of the contest while gifting the students

with Bic products during their class  interaction. The graphics students were particularly encouraged to take up

the challenge as this will give them a chance for global exposure with Bic Art Collection.

Visit by Dr. Bansal

Dr. Kamal Bansal visited the College of Architecture & Engineering (CAE) on Thursday 28th September 2019 . Dr. Bansal is  the Dean of Engineering and Academics at the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, India.  Currently, 13 UON students from Petroleum and Mechanical are undergoing exchange studies in UPES. From next year, in January 2020, students from UPES will join UON for one semester exchange and an adjunct professor from UPES will conduct teaching of petroleum engineering in the School of Engineering, UON.

Raouf Shawky: the father of photogrammetry at UoN

T his is a description of Raouf Shawky Rostom, Professor of Photogrammetry, and father of the Department of Geospatial and Space Technology at the University of Nairobi. Born in 1938, in Cairo, Egypt and brought up as an Egyptian Coptic Orthodox, Raouf , now 74 years old was educated in Cairo and joined the Faculty of Engineering at Cairo University, graduating in 1959 with a B.sc degree in Civil Engineering. Because he was at the head of his group, the faculty decided that he should get a government scholarship to study for a Ph.D in the Soviet Union.
