My academic and professional work experience spans 28 years across two continents: the United States for 15 years at Rutgers University and the Pennsylvania State University, and 13 years in Kenya at the University of Nairobi Enterprises and Services Limited, Maseno University and the University of Nairobi.
My academic and professional work experience spans 28 years across two continents: the United States for 15 years at Rutgers University and the Pennsylvania State University, and 13 years in Kenya at the University of Nairobi Enterprises and Services Limited, Maseno University and the University of Nairobi. I graduated with Mechanical Engineering degrees from Princeton University (United States), BSE (Hons) (1987), and the Pennsylvania State University (United States) with an MSc (1989) and PhD (1991), joining as a faculty member the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, in August 1991. My learning journey continued, diversifying into the realm of business and management earning an MBA (Strategic Management) from the Rutgers University Graduate School of Management in 1997 and a second PhD in Business Administration (Strategic Management) from the University of Nairobi in 2014. The combination of my engineering and business training has significantly strengthened my research versatility and administrative capability.
