The college principal today joined the University fraternity in planting around 7000 trees at Kanyariri Farm at upper Kabete Campus.  The trees were donated by Equity Group. The exercise involved Equity Group, University of Nairobi and Kenya Forestry Department who helped in identification and planting of the tees.

The opening ceremony was conducted at Wangari Maathai Institute. During his speech, Prof. Stephen Kiama (VC, UoN) said that planting trees is important for promoting biodiversity and giving future generations hope and a good environment to prosper.

While making his remarks, Equity group CEO Polycarp Igathe said that the group has planted more than four million trees and was planning to donate more trees to the university as a way of Environmental Conservation.
