KENET invites participants  to register  for the Engineering Researchers Forum at   https://events.kenet.or.ke/event/35/

  1. There shall be three presentations by grantees of educational technology innovations in teaching engineering and CS projects funded by KENET in February 2020  (15 minutes each) . We therefore invite members of SIG in Computer Science and Information Systems to register for the forum.
  1. We are inviting lightning talks (5-10 minutes) presentations of any ongoing engineering research projects in any engineering area  by engineering faculty members – we shall select only four presenters. This is also one way for us to know the engineering being undertaken in our community. We shall list all the proposals received.
  1. There shall be a brainstorming session on priority research areas for the next Call for Proposals for KENET research grants for the FY 2021/2022. KENET plans to award up to four KES 1.5 million grants to be awarded by February 2022.

In September 2021, 42 faculty members attended an online “Foundations in Deep Learning” workshop facilitated by an NVIDIA master instructor. NIVIDIA subsequently donated 150 training that you or your graduate students can use to attend one of the many ML courses offered by NVIDIA. If you need some training code for yourself or your research students, simply indicate as much in the registration or send an e-mail to Maureen Musau (copied). This is part of the KENET AI and ML initiative to build the capacity of KE faculty in this area and promote research big data projects that use ML techniques.
