The University of Nairobi marked a momentous occasion on Friday, December 15th, with its 70th graduation ceremony held at the Chancellors' Court. A total of 5,744 graduates, including 65 proud engineering students from the Faculty of Engineering, and 121 Engineering students from Kenya Polytechnic University College; embarked on the next chapter of their lives, armed with knowledge and resilience.

Hon. Ezekiel Machogu, Cabinet Secretary, Education, graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. He commended the University of Nairobi and other institutions of Higher Learning for fostering a conducive learning environment, acknowledging the challenges posed by limited funding. "The Ministry will progressively work towards resolving financial concerns and ensure unimpeded access to quality education," he assured.

Prof. Amukowa Anangwe, Ag.Chancellor, conferred the degrees, reminding graduates of their responsibility to become problem solvers. "Go out and address the socio-economic issues that plague our nation," he urged. "Your journey will be bumpy, but with discipline, resilience, and patience, you will secure a bright future for yourself and your country."

Prof. Stephen Kiama, Vice Chancellor, expressed his pride in the graduating class. "This is a remarkable achievement," he said, "and I commend your dedication and perseverance throughout your academic journey." He highlighted the diverse range of degrees awarded, showcasing UoN's commitment to various disciplines.

The Faculty of Engineering staff and students celebrated the success of their 65 graduates, who have diligently honed their skills to become future leaders in various engineering fields. This achievement resonates with the graduation theme, "Transforming the Society by Producing Resilient Graduates," as these engineers are equipped to tackle the challenges and contribute to the development of Kenya and beyond.
