University Moves to Online Learning

Following a government directive to close all schools, the university suspended face to face learning on 26th March 2020.

The university of Nairobi is exploring new ways of learning despite the Corona Virus outbreak. Following a government directive to close all schools, the university suspended face to face learning on 26th March 2020. The university therefore embarked on finding the best online platform to teach students spearheaded by the ICT department. The following platforms have been identified by the university to facilitate online learning,

- Zoom

- Google Classroom

- Big Blue Button

-Blackboard

-Webex

-University e-learning platform (e-class)

 

The university also embarked on a vigorous training program that started in the month of March to facilitate smooth transitioning from the traditional classroom to online teaching. There are also talks by the university with telecom companies to provide subsidized data rates for staff and students.
