The 2nd ASI-SAPIENZA meeting with Kenyan universities that was hosted by the School of Engineering was held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the University of Nairobi, Central Catering Unit.
During his opening remarks, the Dean, SOE, Prof Mbuthia Jackson, said that it was a great honor for the school to have hosted the workshop and that they were also looking forward for more exciting engagements in the future with SAPIENZA, that focused on development programs related to space asset utilization. He said that the school was also looking forward and hoped to engage in joint degree programs with the University of Rome.
The workshop brought together over 70 participants representing the Italian Space Agency (ASI), University of Rome, La Sapienza and Kenyan universities. The main agenda of the event was to discuss the research program funded by ASI in the framework of the ASI-Sapienza Agreement for research Activities at the Broglio Space Centre in Malindi.
